ABOUT ME

Doctor Sergio F. Capre was born in New York, USA, but grew up in the beautiful seaside town of Aguadilla on the island of PR. It is precisely here that he developed his passions and his interest in nature, sport and fitness as every day he tried to find time to surf or train in the water on waves of all sizes.

"Surfing is a very physically and mentally demanding sport, you often put yourself in danger when trying to catch the perfect wave. At a young age I understood that to have the most fun I had to be the healthiest, most fitter and mentally smarter than myself… and that this was true of everything else in life.”

At the age of 18, Dr. Sergio was involved in a car accident that changed his life. The doctors at the hospital told him that everything was fine and that it was a simple accident. But in reality something had changed for him; since the day of the accident he developed a series of problems such as insomnia, difficulty concentrating at school, anxiety, constant back pain and neck pain.

After many months of visits to different doctors without finding any answers to his problem, he ended up visiting a chiropractor. Although he didn't really know what chiropractic was and what it treated, he decided to give it a try and once again his life changed, but this time in a positive way.

"After the first visit to the chiropractor I couldn't quite understand how he would help me. In just a few visits my pain disappeared, and subsequently I was able to recover my energy levels and concentration feeling more dynamic. It was explained to me how chiropractic treatments positively influence the neurology of the body and I was so incredulous and fascinated by this profession which in my eyes was anything but. A world opened up to me and I told myself that I wanted to do that in life. Growing up I always thought that only older people with back pain could benefit from a chiropractor, but in reality chiropractic is a discipline that allows anyone to reach their maximum potential."

After figuring out what he wanted to do in life, Dr. Sergio attended the prestigious Sherman College of Chiropractic in South Carolina, USA. Here he had the opportunity to study numerous techniques such as Knee Chest Upper Cervical, Blair Technique, Toggle, Diversify, NSA, TRT, QSM3, Webster Technique, Advance Pediatrics, which allow him to provide chiropractic treatments to patients of all ages, from children to the elderly. But it wasn't until he had a severe herniated disc in his lower back that he found his passion for the Gonstead Method.

“It's one thing to help others and see the amazing results chiropractic can provide, but it's another thing to experience firsthand how powerful chiropractic itself can be. I was halfway through my Chiropractic College program when I suffered a disc herniation following an injury and gave me a different perspective on chiropractic. As an athlete I know very well what it means to not be able to do what we like to do most. When a patient opens up to you and describes the pain they are experiencing , the tingling and strange sensations that run down your legs, how it affects your quality of life... I can truly understand them because I was once in their place. The specificity and precision of the Gonstead System has given me so much of my life that I decided that I want to do the same for my patients."

Dr. Sergio Capre has successfully obtained all the "American National Boards of Chiropractic", the "American PT certificate". He also obtained his chiropractic license in the United States of America. To perfect his technique and manual skills he attended many seminars during his school years and has achieved more than 200 certified hours of postgraduate studies in the Gonstead Method. He received an “Advance Proficiency of Torque Release Technique” award from Jay Holder, DC, MD, phD the creator of that technique.

Dr. Sergio loves Italy, Italians and...pizza!! But above all he loves helping people.
